NEWTONeye has been serving the vision needs of families in the Wellesley Hills and surrounding areas since 2004.
In 2017, to accommodate future growth and to enhance your eye care experience, NEWTONeye became affiliated with State Street Eye located in Boston’s Financial District, and its parent company Vincett Eye Care Associates, LTD.
NEWTONeye is now known as State Street Eye, Newton-Wellesley, but continues to care for your eyes with the same great doctors, knowledgeable opticians, and friendly staff.
Dr. Lynn Wittman founded NEWTONeye in 2004, with the mission to provide patients the highest standard of eye care available. By offering clinical excellence, attentive service, and patient-centered care, the practice experienced years of successive growth, largely through word-of-mouth referrals.
Prior to private practice, Dr. Wittman was an optometrist at the MIT Medical Eye Clinic. She also taught at the New England College of Optometry for several years and worked at various clinics and health centers around Boston.
Dr. Wittman has served as the President of the Alumni Association of the New England College of Optometry and as Middlesex District Chair for the Massachusetts Society of Optometry.
She graduated valedictorian from the New England College of Optometry, and was later granted Fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry.
When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Wittman enjoys spending time in New Hampshire with her son and family.
Dr. Mai Luu joined the professional eye care team of NEWTONeye in 2010, and enhanced the practice with her expertise in urgent eye care issues, chronic ocular disease, and contact lens care — with a specialty in fitting lenses for presbyopic patients.
Dr. Luu’s personable chair-side manner and enthusiasm for her profession have made her a popular doctor among patients seeking a high-quality eye care experience that is also comfortable and interactive.
Her professional dedication includes having been a preceptor for New England College of Optometry interns during her time at Pine Street Inn, where she cared for the vision needs of homeless patients. She has also taught a lab course as part of the optometry school’s curriculum.
She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and then was accepted to the Illinois College of Optometry, where she graduated cum laude. During her optometry residency at Boston Veterans Hospital in 2009, she became a devotee to our city and a permanent resident.
Dr. Luu is a Chicago native, and fluent in Cantonese and Vietnamese. She enjoys spending time kayaking and traveling with her husband, and especially loves visiting her family in Chicago as often as possible.

During this time, patients became devoted to his personalized care, contact lens expertise, and approachable demeanor. After three decades, many of his original patients continue to be under the guidance of his care.
Dr. Soll is a Boston native. He received his optometric degree from New England College of Optometry, and his Masters in Public Health from Boston University School of Medicine.

Dr. Kelly is the newest member to join our professional eye care team with a specialized interest in visual development, contact lens examination, pediatric vision care, and eye disease diagnosis.
She is passionate about her profession and providing vision solutions for her patients, which she attributes to her needing vision therapy as a child. “I knew from a very early age I wanted to be an eye doctor after I received the life-changing benefits the profession provides.”
Included in her vision solutions, is lifestyle lens prescribing that addresses vision and physical discomfort associated with eye fatigue — common among digital device users, and students and office workers who perform large amounts of near-vision tasks.
She received her Doctor of Optometry from Western University of Health Sciences in California, and performed her Residency in Vision Therapy/Pediatric Optometry through the Southern College of Optometry in Boston. She earned further professional distinction by pursuing the rigorous requirements of Fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO).
Dr. Kelly is a member of several optometric associations including the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF), American Academy of Optometry (AAO), American Optometric Association (AOA), and Massachusetts Society of Optometrists (MSO).
